Titanic

October 2019
Face Productions | Master: pro-shot | MP4 - 1.7 GB
Andrew Swift (Thomas Andrews), Stephen Bolton (J. Bruce Ismay), David Mersault (Captain E.J. Smith / Isidor Straus), Matthew Collingwood (1st Officer William Murdoch / Benjamin Guggenheim), Jai Ignacio (2nd Officer Charles Lightoller / George Widener), Bonny Loo (3rd Officer Herbert J. Pitman / Henry Etches), Andrew Hadiwidjaja (Quartermaster Robert Hitchens / Harold Bride), Lanre Animashaun (Frederick Barrett), Chi Yee Lo (Frederick Fleet), Adam Harris (Joseph Bell / Major), Alex Castley (Bellboy), Moe Moss (Ida Straus), Stanley Lui (J.J. Astor), Tara Anderson (Madeleine Astor), Annabel Brown (Madame Aubert), Damien Barnes (John B. Trading notes: Multi-cam proshot of a semi-professional production. There wasn't a live orchestra but backing tracks to accompany actors, which led to countless instances of people going off-beat and missing/muddling up their cues. Only a handful of the actors are decent singers (Andrews, Kate McGowan, Ida Straus, Barrett, Alice Beane and to an extent Fleet and Pitman). Stephen Bolton (Ismay)'s mic decided to break after the opening sequence, and was broken throughout the show. Mr. Andrews has a thick Irish accent that can be a bit distracting sometimes. Captain Smith flubs a line in Act 2, when he expresses his hope of God sending them a sh*t instead of ship. In wide shots of the stage, subtitles at the top can be seen in English and Cantonese. Edgar Beane has a Greek accent. Sound can be a bit quiet at times.

Shively (Charles Clarke), Emilie Kouatchou (Caroline Neville), Andrew Durand (Jim Farrell), Samantha Williams (Kate McGowan), Lilli Cooper (Kate Murphy)
Master's notes: Excellent 4K capture of this great production! Act One has a bar in the way that obstructs a little when characters are sitting on the floor and nothing else, and much less obstructive in Act Two. Some moments of wandering and unfocusing. Some washout on wider shots. Includes curtain call, audio is fed from external source.

Jackie Burns (Céline Dion), Dimitri Joseph Moïse (u/s Jack), Cayleigh Capaldi (u/s Rose), Drew Droege (Ruth), Brad Greer (u/s Victor Garber / u/s Luigi), Marcus Antonio (The Seaman / Iceberg), Anne Fraser Thomas (Molly Brown), Brandon Contreras (Cal), Luke Antony Neville (u/s Background Vocalist), Nya (Background Vocalist)
Trading notes: Decent wide-shot phone boot of this spectacularly hilarious show. Unfortunately, this theatre is extremely hard to film in. Shot between heads and over audience seats. Some action on the far right of the stage is missed, but overall watchable. This was the most fun night of theater I've had in ages. Such smart and silly humor. Quite a few understudies on, but you'd have no idea. Every single vocal performance was flawless. Some of the best sound mixing I've heard in NYC. Can't recommend this show enough. Never to be sold. Master's notes: Almost perfect wide-shot capture. Possibly my best video of all time so far. Only moments not captured are when the cast is in the audience or behind me. Tess has really grown into her Céline role. Vocals are 10x better than my March video. Improv includes a Hamilton Rap. Joel makes Cayleigh break down when he calls her Theme Park Elsa multiple times. Excellent performances by all, as usual. Includes BCEFA speech. Never to be sold. Gifting Encouraged. Includes video, audio (tracked and untracked), and cast board photo.

Master's notes: Decent wide-shot phone video from the center. In scenes where Michael was across from someone else and I couldn't capture both, I deferred to Michael, since it was his last show. Improv is a parody of Brokeback Mountain. Humor Highlight when Dee adds crotch hair to her costume and scratches it. Includes BCEFA speech and a Goodbye to Michael speech from Dee. Very emotive audience. So happy to see Michael get all the love he deserves. Includes video, audio (tracked and untracked), and cast board photo. Never to be sold. Gifting Encouraged.

Trading notes: Pretty good stage shot, filmed between heads. There is a head which obstructs the entire right side of the stage. However, aside from the Silver Star aerial routine, very little action is missed because of this. Some washout on the brighter scenes.

Off-Broadway | Master: StarCuffedJeans | MP4 - 6.60 GB
Lauren Zakrin (Riley Williams), Wonu Ogunfowora (Cairo), Jenny Rose Baker (Kate Dalton), MiMi Scardulla (Reese), Kaitlyn Frank (Annleigh), Cathy Ang (Mattie Wheeler), Celeste Rose (Chess), Zoe Jensen (Farrah), Sydney Parra (Eva Sanchez), Louis Griffin (Clark)
Trading notes: Starts at the beginning of I Just Wanna and missing part of Mattie's Lament. The theater was really full tonight so there are a good number of heads in this video, but they are worked around to the best of my ability. This is a super small theater (less than 160 seats) and at times the cast members were definitely singing to the camera and honestly giving their best performances because of it. All of the things on the upper level (the bathroom, the pathway, and the kitchen) are captured perfectly, and the zooms on the lower level (the living room and bench) look good as well. Obviously because this is a murder mystery kind of show the lighting can get a little bit dark, but my camera handles low lighting incredibly well. This is honestly the best video you could expect from this venue.

Master's notes: Excellent 4K capture of Danny and Leanne together! Some parts of the show are messily filmed due to how bright it was, but almost all action is captured. There are heads visible on the bottom. Some wandering / readjustment and unfocusing throughout. Some washout on wider shots. Includes curtain call and Bohemian Rhapsody, audio fed from external source.
Trading notes: Ellis Linford-Pill performed in Danny's Track, Esme Bacalla-Hayes performed in Leanne's Track

Master's notes: Excellent 4K capture of this fascinating play! The first scene is mostly darkness. One minor head obstruction that sometimes blocks off when characters are sitting / laying down. Much of the video is wideshot due to the nature of the play. Includes curtain call, audio fed from external source.

Steppenwolf Theatre | Master: SunsetBlvd79 | VOB+smalls - 6.40 GB
Amy Morton (Martha), Tracy Letts (George), Carrie Coon (Honey), Madison Dirks (Nick)
Trading notes: Good capture of the thrilling production before it went to Broadway. For the first act, two heads block the far sides in wide shots. Mostly this is not an issue, since they are zoomed past for midsize shots and most of the action is center stage. A-

The Who's Tommy

June 2023
Goodman Theatre | Master: allisforgiven | MP4 - 13.6 GB

Master's notes: Filmed early in previews. This is a stage shot, filmed from a corner, surrounded by production people. All action captured, but there are heads in the shots. The lighting in this show is…difficult- so there is a bit of washout and wandering. About 26 minutes into Act I there is a 3 minute section where the picture is all over the place due to balance issues. Otherwise, this is a solid video.

Trading notes: A frustratingly obstructed full show video capture of this Pre-Broadway tour. Act 2 is MUCH better than act 1, capturing much more action and a lot of beautiful closeups. You cant see much of anything for the first 10 minutes due to obstruction, and there are a few very brief dropouts in both acts. Audio is crystal clear for both acts. Very performance heavy wherever possible, with close-ups and focus on individual performers whenever within view. A must see for anyone wanting a good look at each actors performance, but not a good introductory video to the show.
