Trading notes: Original notes: Great video from the right side of the house. Clear picture but quite dark. Great audio. Recorded in the spring. 2026 addendum: The screenshots are indicative of the level of zooms/details. Faces are mostly impossible to make out even when they're not completely washed out. Still, the video is clear enough to at least follow what's happening. The subtitle files for the two separate acts are synced to the two-disc version that's 5.50 GB, which is also the one the screenshots are from.

Trading notes: Chess ran in Australia from February 3 to July 7, 1990. Often mislabeled as February 21, 1991.

Master's notes: Great 4k capture of the electric first preview of this revival! Little to no obstruction throughout, although unfortunately a lighting rig blocks the right of the upper level. Some washout in wider shots and wandering throughout, with minor instances of the camera focusing on the wrong thing due to usher activity. Many blackouts during the first ten minutes or so, also due to usher activity. Includes bows and audio of most of the overture.

Master's notes: Great capture of this wonderful revival! Shot in a great mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. Increased wandering, shaking, and re-adjusting throughout. Unfortunately audio only for about 9 minutes after One Night in Bangkok. Audio is patched in from an external source; some rustling and scraping can be heard during readjustment periods. Overall a great capture.

Trading notes: Excellent HD capture of Brandy Norwood joining the cast as Roxie. Everything is nicely captured, though a few minor and quick parts to the extreme far right can be blocked a few times. Brandy did an excellent job in the role and was really giving a solid performance! A-

Master's notes: Good 4K capture of Emma Pittman’s very limited run as Roxie. There were several moments of blackouts, wandering, etc as ushers were active, primarily in scene transitions. There is also some minor obstruction in the form of a head at the bottom of the stage, and occasionally the master’s covering. Spotlight washout is fairly frequent but rarely obscures a character’s face. Includes curtain call and most of the entr’acte, audio is fed from external source.

Trading notes: Original version from master is two MP4 files (one per act). A one file version also circulates.

Trading notes: Filmed in 4K, released in 1080p and 4K. Short drop-outs for applause; longer drop-out (i.e. audio only) during last part of Mr. Cellophane and part of When Velma Takes the Stand. Minimal obstruction, only in wider shots when action is downstage.

What an amazing cast this was! Nikki Snelson was stunning as Cassie, and all of the others were fantastic as well, many of them still early in their careers at the time. Master's notes: Great capture of the first preview of this new musical about the real life story of transgender soldier Albert Cashier! Shot in a great mix of close-ups, mediums, and wide-shots with a few dropouts that don't lose too much video. The first bit of act 2 is the most frequent with a 3-minute audio only section and it takes a decent bit to get settled in due to me wrestling with my filming equipment, but it's not bad. External audio is used for act 2. Overall a great capture despite a few technical issues. I’m excited to see where this show goes from here.

Trading notes: A musical comedy show by the virtuoso prog rock Frank Zappa-like Italian band Elio e le storie tese and the renowned Italian comedian Claudio Bisio. The show, a mix of theatre, concert and musical, includes some of the major hits both of Elio and Bisio, ranging from prog rock to opera, from nonsensical lyrics to uneven tempos and incredible solos, merging Frank Zappa, Monty Python and the long tradition of Italian cabaret. Trading notes: Heavily obstructed HD camera shot from the Closing Night of this immersive production. Due to it being an open space, trying to film was incredibly hard which then led to me having to put my camera on my chair and shoot it blind, and the odds were definitely against me. Lots of interactions with both actors, including getting grabbed and sung to by Harriet, which luckily was caught on film! I’ll be releasing this as highlights only, due to the full show being audible but only a few scenes being visible here and there.

Trading notes: The bottom left of the video is slightly obstructed by a lighting rail. The master accidentally stop recording during 38 Planes but realized right away so its only missing a second or two. Some nice close-ups. Clive misses the cue for the first “Welcome to the Rock!”
