Jesus Christ Superstar (61 recordings)

Master's notes: In his early career as composer/producer, Gary Powell plays the role of Jesus Christ and Leo Lerma plays Judas. This production was performed in Austin, Texas at the 1980 Zilker Park Summer Musical. The show played outdoors to some eight thousand people for each of the eleven nights. The show was directed by Dennis Razze, now at DeSales University in PA. The music director was Tom Cantrell, now living in Austin, Texas.

Master's notes: Shot on a tripod with zooms.

Trading notes: Lee Pritchard was music director. Frank Kraat directed.

Trading notes: Posted as archival footage on YouTube. The date is the one reported in the video.

Trading notes: Public dress rehearsal of the open-air production. Good camcorder filming of the show.

My notes: The recording is from 2004, but the file is an MKV, which makes me suspect the file I have is a rip/re-encoded file. However, as nobody else has it on the database, I don't know of anyone else to ask about the original format.

Master's notes: Very nice production, done in the original style, not the horrible revival style. Despite his age, Ted gave a fabulous performance as Jesus. Best JCS out there, wonderful picture and sound. A-

Trading notes: Often mislabeled as January 23, 2008.

Trading notes: Produced under the title Jesucristo Superstar Siglo XXI.

My notes: Files are split into recordings of each song and some choreo clips. There's no menu or anything but VLC plays through it all. The person I got this from said that it is the only format that they know of.

Trading notes: 57 mins of highlights, not clear if it's a pro-shot or a bootleg.

Trading notes: Monitor video. Full stage shot and soundboard audio.

Master's notes: So much power and talent in this Broadway transfer. Much more energy than the previous La Jolla capture. Excellent changes to the production including the addition of Tom. Beautifully captured and Josh Young is sensational! A+

Trading notes: Regional production known for its particular scenography: set in the Rogue Valley three years after a nuclear apocalypse, with the Roman Centurions in stormtrooper attire and scenes set locally in places like the Jackson County Expo and the Ashland Armory

Trading notes: Multi-camera pro-shot.

Trading notes: Not completely clear if sung live

Master's notes: Cámaras front / drum cam de la Obra Jesucristo Superstar de la presentaciòn realizada en Paine por la Junta de vecinos de villaseca.

Trading notes: House cam on the screen for the entire recording

Master's notes: The story of Jesus Christ Superstar told from a drummer's perspective. 12 and a half minutes of JCS drum fills!! Chesterfield Pomegranate Theatre, UK - 2016 Drum Cam / Pit Cam

Trading notes: 30 around minutes

Trading notes: Slightly cut version of the show with socially distanced choreography. Nice mixture of shots. Graphic content warning for Jesus' crucifixion beginning 1:14:20.

Trading notes: Show paused for rain after Strange Thing Mystifying.

Trading notes: Phone boot filmed from the back. Cuts off about 20% of the stage in the bottom of the screen. Otherwise, it's a clear view of the stage with no obstructions or zooms. Filmed blindly. As it got darker some of the lights wash it out and make little parts hard to see, as shown in the screencaps. Overall, a decent boot.

Trading notes: Show paused twice for rain after Hosannah and Jesus Arrest

Trading notes: The cast gave everything for their last performance and the audience were wild. I tried to give all of the ensemble a moment and tried to capture anything missed in the August video. Jesus' crucifixion begins 1:15:40 and is quite graphic. Includes a bows video and the show audio.

Trading notes: Guitar cam. Includes Overture, Heaven On Their Minds, Hosanna, Gethsemane, Damned for all time (solo and song), Everything's Alright, I Don't Know How to love him, What's The Buzz, This Jesus Must Die, The Temple, The Last Supper, Strange Thing Mistifying. 2023 is a reasonable guess given the cast, but not information is provided by the master.

Trading notes: Great quality capture of the glitter!Jesus tour. Occasional wandering in the dark during scene changes, but I managed to minimize washout, so Ill call that a win.

Trading notes: MTS, performed in English. WARNING: this production uses strobe lighting and a LOT of blood

Master's notes: Orchestra pit cam, keys 2 Gopro video. JCS original rock opera show from Holland, 2024 Recorded directly from the mixer, so no afterwards fixed stuff. Music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice

Trading notes: 11 minutes of pit cam. Includes excerpts from Overture, Hosanna, Gethsemane, Pilate and Christ, The Last Supper. Originally uploaded to YouTube.

Master's notes: Fantastic capture of Luke's final scheduled show as Jesus!

Trading notes: Around one hour of footage. I recently began subbing at The Riverside Center for the Performing Arts, currently playing Jesus Christ Superstar! I've been blown away by the quality of this production, and this show has quickly become one of my favorites. The music is very non-stop, and was quite a mental and physical workout! The audio is a mix of my in-ear mix and camera audio. I hope you enjoy and subscribe for more!Performers: Music Director/Keys 1 - Carson Eubank Keys 2 - David Landrum Reeds - Tony Moran Trumpet - Stephen Patterson Horn - Ryan Scott Guitar - Jonah Barnett Bass - Joanna Smith Drums - Zephaniah Washington

Trading notes: 32 minutes of bass-focused highlights. Originally uploaded to YouTube.

Trading notes: Act 2 only.

Master's notes: Great capture of this insane production! Shot in a great mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups; the screens are never filmed, it’s always the actual stage. Two standing ovations, one after Gethsemane lasting 2 minutes and one after Superstar lasting a minute. Increased wandering, shaking, and re-adjusting throughout. Includes bows and appearance from ALW. External audio is patched in from Steponmeshoeman. This performance was also filmed by QuoxWoodTrees and Ostarion. Overall a great capture of this wonderful cast!

Master's notes: iPhone recording of the screen in venue. Shot from Promenade 4 (rear section) Phone is stable throughout show, with one noticeable movement during curtain call. Heads occasionally pass in front of the screen, most notably during the beginning of Act 2 and the last few minutes. Washed out because of distance, but watchable. Screenshots taken on phone. Original MOV of each act + combined MOV available.

Trading notes: Never to be gifted, never to be shared or posted to any public forum. Trade as normal.

Trading notes: Camera pans from the screens to the stage often 01:15:36 of total footage

Trading notes: A few seconds are missing during audio glitches from time to time
