West End | Master: strangeangel78 | MP4 - 14.0 GB
Phil Cavill (s/b Jean Valjean), Cornell John (Javert), Kerry Ellis (Fantine), Julia Möller (Cosette), Hayden Tee (Marius), Shonagh Daly (Éponine), Barry James (Thénardier), Shaun Escoffery (Enjolras), Tracie Bennett (Madame Thénardier), Ross McCormack (Gavroche), Bethany Andrew (Little Cosette), Jeff Nicholson (Grantaire / Factory Foreman), David Thaxton (Courfeyrac / Bamatabois), Tim Godwin (Combeferre), John Addison (Jean Prouvaire / Factory Worker), Stephen John Davis (Lesgles / The Bishop of Digne), Georgia Fresco (Young Éponine)
Trading notes: Final matinee of this cast. The only video of Phil Cavill and the full 2005/2006 cast. Missing just the first minute of act two, otherwise complete. Well shot video. Minor obstruction from black bar in lower part of the picture that I dealt with by leaning in when needed. Audio fed from external source. Originally shot in (16:9) standard definition, converted to MP4 in 2022 from original digital tape transfer from 2006. Great audio/video quality. Balanced mix of mediums and close ups, with some ensemble wandering here and there. (Note: some digital artifacts have been recorded onto original tape in the student scenes in act one. Not distracting but I should mention it.)
September 2008 (Evening)

Trading notes: Missing Castle on a Cloud, Master of the House, and Dog Eats Dog. Act 2 starts at Valjean reading Marius letter. Camera sometimes slides out of focus, among other things, the entire In My Life/Heart Full of Love sequence is blurry. Also includes a 1 hour highlights version of another performance in September (which among other scenes includes all the scenes missing on the other date) with Earl Carpenter as Javert, Jonathan Williams as Valjean and Mark Dugdale as Enjolras (Mark appears only briefly; in ODM and when Valjean asks for his reward). Those highlights include: Prologue, I Dreamed A Dream, Can This Be True, Who Am I, beginning of Fantines Death, Another Brawl, Stars, In My Life, A Heart Full Of Love, Attack on Rue Plumet, One Day More, On My Own, We Meet Again, Bring Him Home, Dog Eats Dog

Trading notes: Act 1 is a video (MP4), act 2 is audio only (M4A). The video is blindshot and though the sound is good, there is very little to see of the stage.

First Broadway Revival

Trading notes: Filmed in widescreen (though encoded in 4:3, so there are bars at the top and bottom of the screen), this is a nice capture of some of the new cast members. Drew and Ann give great performances in their roles. The second disc also includes the first 15 minutes of the February 24, 2007 Evening show, filmed from the rear right orchestra.

Trading notes: Excellent single camera filming slight to the right of centre of the stage from the balcony. Good clear view, for the most part with some wonderful close up and full stage shots. Audio was slightly on the quiet side, so I boosted it a little but is otherwise untouched.

Second Broadway Revival

August 21, 2014 (Evening)
Second Broadway Revival | Master: SJ Bernly | VOB+Smalls - 8.2 GB
Nathaniel Hackmann (u/s Jean Valjean), Earl Carpenter (Javert), Caissie Levy (Fantine), Samantha Hill (Cosette), Andy Mientus (Marius), Nikki M. James (Éponine), Cliff Saunders (Thénardier), Kyle Scatliffe (Enjolras), Keala Settle (Madame Thénardier), Joshua Colley (Gavroche), Mia Sinclair Jenness (Little Cosette), Angeli Negron (Young Éponine), Adam Monley (The Bishop of Digne)
Trading notes: A fantastic capture of this lavish production. It's refreshing to see different faces in the lead roles, and both Nathaniel and Earl carry the show well. Nathaniel's vocals are powerful and he has a great rapport with Caissie and Samantha. A lovely capture overall with no obstruction. Look Down is mostly blacked out and there are a couple quick dropouts during The Bishop scene and Lovely Ladies, but the show is otherwise fully intact. There is also some washout in high-contrast wide shots. It's filmed in 16:9, with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. The sound is excellent. Includes curtain call and playbill scans.

Trading notes: Obstructed capture with a few covers on. My first time filming this show and I struggled a bit with the darkness but some very nice moments.
August 11, 2023 (Evening)
West End Revival | Master: bikinibottomday | MP4 - 11.8 GB
Josh Piterman (Jean Valjean), Stewart Clarke (Javert), Lucie Jones (Fantine), Lulu-Mae Pears (Cosette), Robert Tripolino (Marius), Nathania Ong (Éponine), Bart Lambert (u/s Thénardier), Harry Chandler (Enjolras), Claire Machin (Madame Thénardier), Ethan Sokontwe (Gavroche), Daisy Bryant (Little Cosette), Matthew Dale (u/s Grantaire), Cameron Burt (Feuilly), Christopher Jacobsen (Combeferre), Brad Barnley (Factory Foreman / Brujon / Warnings), Harry Jack (Montparnasse), Donald Craig Manuel (Claquesous / The Bishop of Digne), Ivy Rose Mann (Young Éponine), Sam Peggs (Babet / Pimp), Ellie Ann Lowe (Factory Girl), Jodie Nolan (Madame), Georgie Lovatt (Old Woman), Bryony Duncan (Wigmaker), Will Jennings (s/w Ensemble), Ollie Wray (s/w Ensemble), Phoebe Williams (Ensemble), Jo Stephenson (Ensemble), Natalie Chua (Ensemble)
Trading notes: Good 4K capture of this cast! The filming is quite rough at points, usually too wideshot or poorly framed. Some head obstruction on both sides, though primarily on the left, that blocks some action but is typically worked around well. Increased wandering/readjustment and unfocusing throughout. About ten minutes from the end of Act One, there was a show stop, and the rest of the act afterwards has more obstruction due to latecomers. Includes curtain call, audio is fed from external source.
August 2025 (1)
West End Revival | Master: AndrewLloydWebbersiPad | MP4 - 5.62 GB
Matthew Dale (u/s Jean Valjean), Sam Oladeinde (Javert), Katie Hall (Fantine), Izzi Levine (Cosette), Thiago Phillip Felizardo (Marius), Amena El-Kindy (Éponine), Adam Gillen (Thénardier), Joe Griffiths-Brown (Enjolras), Claire Machin (Madame Thénardier), Adam Pearce (The Bishop of Digne)
Master's notes: This is for sure a capture of Les mis. It loses focus, much like the recent works of Andrew Lloyd Webber, mid way through act 1, but seems to be fine for act 2. Occasionally the camera pans down rapidly during applause. Generally some decent moments, a little shaky but what isn’t blurry is fine

Trading notes: Perfect video of this incredible cast. Steve tears the house down as Javert and is near perfect in the role. The video has very little washout and the colors are very pretty. There is some grain when it's very dark, but it's not distracting. Some shakiness throughout.
October 13, 2024 (Matinee)

Master's notes: Fantastic capture of this tour's new cast along with Eden as Cosette! due to how dark les mis can be at times it can look a little grainy. Some washout, shakiness and readjusting throughout.
June 2025

Master's notes: Concert with actors involved in the brazillian productions of the show and some new faces. Very Marius-centric highlights filmed vertically from the second row, as I tried by best to work around my phone running out of storage space during the concert (some moments are better than others – One Day More is chopped into some bits, as I had to stop recording a couple of times)
